Captain Mike Miller

Capt. Mike is a Florida Native and a Full-Time Ranger Inshore Fishing Team ProStaff Guide who has been fishing all over Florida since he was a child.  Capt. Mike grew up in Okeechobee and was raised on fresh water from Lake Okeechobee to the Chain of Lakes in central Florida; however since discovering the excitement of inshore fishing for Tarpon, Redfish, Snook and Trout almost two decades ago, Capt. Mike has been converted.

 

Capt. Mike enjoys spending as much time as possible with his beautiful family.  Capt. Mike’s wife Kelly, daughters Sydney and Michaela enjoy the same passion for golf and fishing as Capt. Mike does.  Okay, maybe Michaela is a little young but she will.

 

Capt. Mike was a former PGA Golf Professional and Professional Golfer for many years.  Mike still hasn’t lost his ability to play great golf.  As the Head Golf Professional and Assistant Golf Professional at numerous top quality golf courses; Mike has first hand knowledge of what you the client expect in top quality golf courses. As the 2000 North Florida PGA Assistant of the Year, Mike has developed many relationships all over the state to enable him to provide you first hand knowledge of the best golf courses in Florida.  Capt. Mike may no longer be a professional golfer; however Capt Mike’s passion for playing top quality golf courses is still evident in his business today.

 

Capt. Mike is a Full-Time Ranger Inshore Fishing Team ProStaff Guide; a current IFA Redfish, Flatsmasters and previous FLW Redfish Tour Angler.  Capt. Mike enjoys fishing in a relaxed atmosphere with family and friends, sharing ideas and techniques he has learned through numerous fellow captains to help you, his customers, have a great day on the water.  If you are interested in learning more about fishing, everything from chart plotting, reading charts, bait gathering, casting techniques, knot tying and aren't concerned about double-digit catches; I think you and Capt. Mike will have a great time on the water. 

 

Capt. Mike’s goal is to provide you the tools that he has learned from being a Boatswain Mate and Coxswain in the United States Coast Guard that you will need to be able to navigate safely and use proper boat handling techniques.  Apply proper bait presentation; ultimately teaching you and your family the right release techniques so you can catch fish for years to come.  Capt. Mike is a member of the Florida Guides Association, National Association of Charter boat Operators and the International Game Fish Association.

Capt. Derek Powell

As a Florida native Capt. Derek quickly grew fond of life on the water. Whether it was fishing, surfing, skiing or sailing he was doing it.  As a kid Derek took any chance to fish whether it was casting lures at docks for redfish and snook, or trolling for big pelagic in the Florida Keys.  Later on he discovered his true passion was for Inshore fishing.  In his early 20's he spent a few years in the Bahamas honing his fly fishing skills on tailing bonefish.  He's translated this experience back to his native Florida waters fishing for the many inshore species that roam the flats.

A few years ago Derek discovered the addictive sport of tournament fishing. Now as an IFA Redfish Tournament Champion he continues to fish the tour along with the Flatsmasters Series against other guides and anglers all trying to catch those two or three "perfect" fish.  This challenges anglers to discover new techniques and areas to fish.  There is also the added benefit of networking with other guides to help ensure every charter is a great experience.
